Romeo and Juliet

There are 3 mayor themes in this tragedy:

LOVE (Obviously): Love is very dominant in this play since the play is centralized in Romeo and Juliet’s passion for each other. Love is a violent and overpowering force that can be clearly observed.

FATE: This indicates that Romeo and Juliet's life could be influenced by some power other than of their wills. There are many events in the play that could have completely changed the outcome of the story.

FAMILY: Both of the families have a lot of influence in this story. It all starts because of a fight of these ones. If this fight didn’t exist, none would’ve been dead at the end and Romeo and Juliet could have been happily married with no one suffering.

Helen Keller

I totally agree with Anne's method for teaching Helen. It was a very unique and special way because she constantly kept spelling words into her hand and Anne also taught her that there were many ways to say the same thing. For Anne, it was very important for Helen to understand the meaning of the words and the discipline. Anne was Helen's angel and tutor for the rest of her life which helped her enter college and graduate as a valedictorian. Without a doubt what helped Anne accomplish what she wanted was her extreme patience, faith and above everything god.

Anne Frank

One triumph of Anne Frank is that she was able to love, even in circumstances where her life was threatened. Anne Frank was talented; she was cheerful in the face of persecution. Just because of her Diary we can now learn all the horrible things that happened to her and her family.

One tragedy of Anne Frank is that all this was actually true. Anne and her family lived in a secret room. They lived there more than a year before being found by German police found them and took them to concentration camps. The family was separated. Their father was the only survivor.

Night by: Elie Wiesel

I have passed through 6 operations since I was 4 years old. At first I started asking, why was I the one who needed to suffer all this. Since I was 4 years old, it was not easy understanding my parents say ‘‘God has chosen you and everything in life happens for one reason’’. This was not easy at all for me but as I grew up I realized that it was totally true what my parents had told me. I have learned that with courage, with your family's support and with god’s help, everything is possible. Now thanks to this, I am not even afraid of a needle or operations. Thanks god now I am completely healthy and capable of accomplishing what I want. Now I say that everything in life, even the worse things, have positive or good outcomes.

The Odyssey

Q: Is Odysseus someone who would be admired by young people today?

A: Odysseus was prized and admired for his cleverness, skills in trickery and strategy in war. Obviously these wonderful descriptions attract anyone who hears them but what really matters is what's inside him and the way he communicates with others. Although he is great and really wants to get home to see his family and rescue his beloved Penelope, clearly we can see that he had ''cheated'' on her. He didn't communicate the way he should've done it with his crew. Why didn’t he tell them what was inside the bag? Well, everything has its own consequences. Instead of getting home soon, they went back again. So in conclusion, I think he in some way he is someone who should be admired but at the same time no.

Two Kinds

Her attitude works more to her disadvantage because when someone has a negative mind nothing comes out right. Who knows if she could've been a famous piano player? Her attitude was the thing that mixed everything up. One should never be rude or disrespectful to our parents no matter what. They were the ones who brought us here.

The Scarlet Ibis

I think he is absolutely cruel to his brother although the narrator miraculously changed by the end of the story because he learned to appreciate, love, and shelter his brother even though it was too late. The Narrator is cruel to his brother when he was running away from him, and when he made Doodle touch his own coffin that his father made for him. The Narrator tells us that everyone, even himself, has been cruel to their families because of love. The brother’s pride overtakes love when he continues to push Doodle to harder physical exercises in spite of Doodle's obviously weak state of health. He feels embarrassed and ashamed of Doodle's limitations and differences from other people. When Doodle’s family congratulates him on his accomplishment, the brother feels shame because he knows that he did it not because of love, but because of pride. He understands he had been selfish and cruel because of his own need to succeed in his title as Doodle's teacher. The brother never knew how to appreciate and think how great his brother truly was towards him and other people too. He never noticed that Doodle was just a simple miracle happening right beside him. The narrator had lost the best thing that could ever happen to him. In conclusion, his pride had contributed Doodle's death.
